Overview

Turn the view of your Ring Wired Doorbell 4K Elite with a purpose-built 25° reversible corner mount by Hidden River Lab. Designed specifically for Model 5DFYA7 (formerly Ring Wired Doorbell Elite, 2nd Gen), the adapter provides a professional horizontal camera angle without the need for a separate in-wall recess behind the doorbell.

The mount fully accommodates the body of the compatible Elite doorbell and provides a recessed mounting arrangement for the original Ring mounting plate. It can be secured directly to a flat wall or over a standard single-gang electrical box. In the latter configuration, the mount completely covers the box opening and helps conceal old screw holes and cosmetic wall imperfections.

The internal space supports routing of Cat5e or higher Ethernet cabling for Ring's native PoE+ configuration. A single-gang box is not required for the mechanical mount itself when an appropriate flat surface, fastening support, and cable entry are available.

The 25° horizontal side angle is reversible for left- or right-side installations; select the viewing direction when installing. This is a fixed-angle mount, not an adjustable swivel mechanism.

The 25° version is suited to many off-center entrances where a moderate change in the doorbell camera direction helps bring the approach path and doorway into view. Actual coverage depends on wall geometry, installation location, and the camera field of view.

Compatibility

✖︎ Not compatible with:
✖︎ Ring Wired Doorbell 4K Pro (3rd Gen) — Model 5DFYA2.
✖︎ Ring Wired Doorbell 2K Plus — Model 5DFYA3; Ring Wired Doorbell 2K — Model 5DFYA4.
✖︎ Ring Wired Doorbell Elite (1st Gen) or other previous-generation Ring wired doorbells.
✖︎ All Ring Battery Doorbell models, including 4K Pro, 2K Plus, and standard 2K.
✖︎ Video doorbells from other brands, including eufy, Nest, Arlo, Wyze, and Blink.
✖︎ Dutch Lap, profiled vinyl clapboard, brickmold, or other uneven surfaces requiring a surface-specific adapter.
✖︎ Additional third-party wedges or mounting brackets unless independently confirmed to fit.

Important: Verify that your doorbell is Ring Wired Doorbell 4K Elite, model 5DFYA7. The previous product name Wired Doorbell Elite (2nd Gen) refers to the same Ring device. Do not assume that a similarly named Elite, Pro, or other Ring model shares its mounting geometry.

PoE and installation requirements: This is a mechanical aftermarket mounting accessory, not a power source, PoE switch, injector, Ethernet connector, or certified electrical box. Provide a compatible IEEE 802.3at PoE+ source and suitable Cat5e or higher cable, and follow Ring's current installation instructions and applicable codes.

What's Included

▪︎ 1 × 25° reversible corner mount for Ring Wired Doorbell 4K Elite (5DFYA7).
▪︎ 2 × Long mounting screws to secure the HRL mount to a suitable wall or standard single-gang electrical box.
▪︎ 2 × Short mounting screws to secure the appropriate original Ring mounting plate to the HRL mount.
✖︎ Not included: Ring video doorbell, original Ring mounting plate, single-gang electrical box, PoE+ switch/injector, Cat5e cable, wall anchors, and other components unless expressly stated.

Fit & Measurements

▪︎ Horizontal correction: Fixed 25°; choose left or right by reversing the mount.
▪︎ Vertical tilt: 0° additional up/down inclination.
▪︎ Doorbell compatibility: Ring Wired Doorbell 4K Elite, model 5DFYA7 only.
▪︎ Mounting surfaces: Flat walls and standard single-gang electrical boxes.
▪︎ Electrical-box coverage: Fully covers a standard single-gang opening when correctly positioned.
▪︎ Surface-mount application: The housing receives the doorbell body without needing an in-wall doorbell recess.
▪︎ Cable clearance: Internal space for a correctly routed Ethernet cable and compatible connection.
▪︎ Fastening method: 2 long screws for the HRL mount, then 2 short screws for the original Ring mounting plate.

Before ordering: Compare the intended mounting area and wall condition with the listing photographs. Confirm an appropriate cable route, connector clearance, stable screw anchorage, and the viewing direction. The surrounding wall must be large and stable enough for the selected mount.

Ideal Installation Scenarios — 25°

Offset doorbell location: On a wall beside the entry door, a 25° horizontal correction can redirect the camera toward approaching visitors rather than along the wall.

Choose either doorway side: Reversing the mount supports left-side or right-side installation with the same product. The angle is fixed after installation.

When 25° is appropriate: Use this configuration where a moderate correction improves camera framing. More rotation is not always better; review door location and potential obstructions before mounting.

Camera view: The adapter changes the camera's direction but does not enlarge the Ring camera's optical field of view. Visibility of visitors, steps, and approach path depends on actual installation geometry.

Why Choose This Mount

▪︎ 25° camera correction: Reorients the Elite camera toward the intended entryway or approach.
▪︎ Reversible design: One mount supports left-side and right-side doorway installations.
▪︎ Box-covering installation: Fits a standard single-gang electrical box and conceals its opening.
▪︎ No box required for surface mounting: Also mounts to a suitable flat wall with a correctly provided cable path.
▪︎ Integrated doorbell recess: Receives the compatible Elite body rather than requiring an opening cut to the size of the device.
▪︎ PoE cable management: Provides space to route Cat5e or higher Ethernet cable without relying on an exposed rear connection.
▪︎ Cosmetic improvement: Helps cover unused fastener holes and minor marks left from earlier installations.
▪︎ Professional mounting: Uses the original Ring mounting plate with dedicated HRL mounting hardware.
▪︎ Model-specific geometry: Designed for the exact Ring 5DFYA7 mounting application.

▪︎ The HRL mount is not represented as a certified electrical junction box or NEMA/IP-rated wiring enclosure.

Installation Notes

Professional mounting tools and installation knowledge may be required. The required PoE+ equipment and Ethernet cable are not supplied with this HRL mount.

▪︎ Step 1 — Confirm the Ring model. Verify Wired Doorbell 4K Elite, model 5DFYA7; do not use this mount with other Ring or non-Ring doorbells.

▪︎ Step 2 — Select angle and side. Determine whether 25° left or right positions the camera toward the desired area. Confirm the available clearance and view before drilling or fastening.

▪︎ Step 3 — Inspect the mounting location. Use an appropriate flat, stable wall or a properly installed standard single-gang electrical box. Check screw support and verify that the mount covers the opening where a box is used.

▪︎ Step 4 — Prepare the Ethernet run. Provide a compatible Cat5e or higher cable connected to a suitable PoE+ source per Ring requirements. Route the cable so it will not be sharply bent, trapped, or pulled against its connector.

▪︎ Step 5 — Position the HRL mount. Test-fit the housing, verify the selected left/right orientation, and organize any permitted cable slack within the available cavity without obstructing the Ring mounting interface.

▪︎ Step 6 — Secure the HRL mount. Use the two included long screws to fasten the mount to the suitable flat wall or single-gang electrical box. Ensure firm support and avoid overtightening.

▪︎ Step 7 — Attach the Ring mounting plate. Position the original compatible Ring mounting plate and secure it to the HRL mount using the two included short screws.

▪︎ Step 8 — Connect and seat the Elite doorbell. Complete PoE cabling and mount the doorbell according to Ring's current installation instructions. Check that the doorbell body fits correctly into the intended recess and locks into the OEM mounting arrangement.

▪︎ Step 9 — Verify cable and weather details. Confirm that the cable is not pinched, the mount is secure, and all cable entries and exterior penetrations are appropriately protected according to the wall system and applicable requirements.

▪︎ Step 10 — Confirm viewing direction and commissioning. Power and configure the doorbell using Ring's instructions, then verify actual camera coverage and adjust the installation plan if the selected angle does not give the required view.

Installation safety: Follow the latest Ring installation and power requirements and applicable electrical/building codes. Use an appropriate cable-entry path, protect the Ethernet termination from strain and moisture, and never treat the HRL adapter as a substitute for a code-required electrical enclosure.
