Overview

Replace a large legacy intercom door station with a modern video doorbell while covering the original wall opening with a clean, finished installation. This 6.5" × 4.75" two-piece intercom retrofit adapter by Hidden River Lab is designed for the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro (2nd Gen) and Ring Battery Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen).

Designed for many NuTone / M&S (Music & Sound) legacy intercom installations and similar-size openings, the adapter covers the old intercom cutout and creates a proper mounting surface for your Ring battery doorbell. The two-piece hidden-screw design with an interlocking mechanism keeps the mounting hardware concealed for a clean, professional finished appearance.

0° straight view keeps the camera facing naturally forward. If additional side-angle correction is needed, the adapter is also fully compatible with the OEM Ring 15° angle adapter supplied with the compatible doorbell.

Installation Notes

Basic tools required (e.g., screwdriver).

▪︎ Remove the existing intercom door station and safely manage any existing wiring.

▪︎ Position the 6.5" × 4.75" base plate over the old intercom opening and reuse existing mounting locations where appropriate.

▪︎ Position the face plate over the base plate and press it firmly into place. The two components use an interlocking snap-fit mechanism. You should feel and/or hear a distinct click when the face plate is fully engaged and locked onto the base plate.

▪︎ Before mounting the doorbell, verify that the face plate is fully seated and securely interlocked with the base plate.

▪︎ After the face plate clicks securely into the base plate, secure the assembly with the included machine screws.

▪︎ For a 0° straight view, mount the compatible Ring doorbell directly to the face plate using the included self-tapping screws.

▪︎ If a side angle is needed, the adapter is fully compatible with the OEM Ring 15° angle adapter supplied with the compatible doorbell. Install the Ring angle adapter as part of the doorbell mounting assembly following Ring’s instructions.

▪︎ Follow Ring’s instructions for final doorbell setup and installation.

▪︎ Weather-seal the installation as appropriate for your wall, opening, and environment.
