5" Dutch Lap Siding Mount for Ring Battery Doorbell 2K, 2K Plus & 4K Pro (2nd Gen)

Overview

Create a clean, vertical mounting surface for your Ring battery doorbell on 5" Dutch Lap siding. This purpose-built Hidden River Lab Dutch Lap siding mount has a shaped back that fits the raised and sloped surface of this siding type.

Compatible with the current Ring Battery Doorbell 4K Pro (5DFYA6), Battery Doorbell 2K Plus (5DCFAB), and Battery Doorbell 2K (5DFYA5). It provides a flat, vertical mounting surface for the original Ring mounting plate without intentionally turning the camera left or right or tilting it up or down.

This mount fits 5" Dutch Lap siding (Double 5 / D5). The 5" measurement is the visible height of one horizontal siding section (also called panel exposure). A Double 5 panel has two 5" sections, about 10" combined. Dutch Lap and standard vinyl clapboard have different shapes and require different mounts.

Important: This adapter is designed for Ring Battery Doorbell models 5DFYA6, 5DCFAB, and 5DFYA5 only. Ring uses similar names across generations. Confirm your exact model number before ordering.

Measure before ordering: Confirm the visible height of one Dutch Lap section is approximately 5" and compare the siding shape with our product photos. A matching dimension alone does not guarantee a matching shape.

→ Siding-shape note: Different manufacturers may use slightly different siding shapes, even with the same visible section height. Compare the side profile shown in our product photos before ordering.

→ Choose the correct siding size and shape: The 5" Dutch Lap mount is not interchangeable with 4", 4.5" Dutch Lap mounts or the other siding style.

Installation Notes

Basic installation tools may be required (e.g., screwdriver). Follow the installation instructions for your exact Ring doorbell model.

▪︎ Step 1 — Check your doorbell and siding. Confirm your Ring model number and the siding type before starting.

▪︎ Step 2 — Measure one siding section. Measure the visible height of one section and confirm it is approximately 5". Compare the siding shape with the product photos.

▪︎ Step 3 — Prepare the mounting area. Check that the siding and material behind it can securely hold the mounting screws. If wiring is present, handle it safely.

▪︎ Step 4 — Check the fit. Hold the shaped back of the mount against the siding. Confirm it matches the siding shape and that the front mounting face is vertical.

▪︎ Step 5 — Secure the HRL mount. Use the appropriate supplied long screws to attach the mount to solid supporting material behind the siding. Do not overtighten or distort the siding.

▪︎ Step 6 — Attach the Ring mounting plate. Fasten the original Ring mounting bracket to the flat front face using the supplied short screws appropriate for that bracket.

▪︎ Step 7 — Install the Ring doorbell. Attach the doorbell according to Ring's instructions, make approved electrical connections if needed, and complete setup.

▪︎ Step 8 — Check the finished installation. Confirm the mount and doorbell are secure, the camera points in the intended direction, and outdoor sealing is appropriate for the wall.

Do not use this mount on a different siding size or shape. Make sure the screws fasten to solid supporting material behind the siding, and follow Ring's instructions for wiring and outdoor sealing.
