Overview

Create a clean, vertical mounting surface for your Ring battery doorbell on 4" Dutch Lap siding. This purpose-built Hidden River Lab Dutch Lap siding adapter follows the specific molded profile of the siding section, helping compensate for its relief and slope.

Compatible with the current Ring Battery Doorbell 4K Pro (5DFYA6), Battery Doorbell 2K Plus (5DCFAB), and Battery Doorbell 2K (5DFYA5). It provides a level, flat-facing surface for the original Ring mounting plate without intentionally changing the camera viewing angle.

This version is designed for 4" Dutch Lap siding (Double 4 / D4). The 4" measurement refers to the nominal visible height (exposure) of one siding section, not the combined height of the full double panel. Dutch Lap and traditional clapboard have different profiles and require different mounts.

Installation Notes

Basic installation tools may be required (e.g., screwdriver). Follow the installation instructions for your exact Ring doorbell model.

▪︎ Step 1 — Verify your doorbell. Check that the exact Ring model is supported and that the siding is the correct profile.

▪︎ Step 2 — Verify siding size. Measure the visible height (exposure) of one siding section and confirm a nominal 4" Dutch Lap profile.

▪︎ Step 3 — Prepare the mounting area. Inspect the siding and its supporting wall or attachment point; safely manage any existing low-voltage wiring.

▪︎ Step 4 — Test the adapter fit. Hold the shaped rear of the mount against the siding to confirm the contour is seated properly and the front face is vertical.

▪︎ Step 5 — Secure the HRL mount. Use the appropriate supplied long screws and suitable support behind the siding; do not overtighten or distort the siding.

▪︎ Step 6 — Attach the Ring mounting plate. Secure the original Ring mounting bracket to the flat front face using the supplied short screws appropriate for the bracket.

▪︎ Step 7 — Install the Ring doorbell. Follow Ring instructions to attach the doorbell, make approved electrical connections if used, and complete setup.

▪︎ Step 8 — Check the finished installation. Verify that the mount is secure, the camera position is correct, and outdoor sealing is appropriate for the wall system.

For best results, do not use a Dutch Lap or standard clapboard adapter with an incorrect siding profile or panel exposure. Confirm that the mounting screws engage suitable structure and that required outdoor wiring or sealing complies with the doorbell manufacturer's instructions.
