Overview

Mount your Ring Battery Doorbell on traditional door-frame brickmold without forcing the mounting plate to sit directly on the trim's raised and recessed shape. This 0.5" brickmold offset adapter by Hidden River Lab is designed for the Ring Battery Doorbell 4K Pro (5DFYA6), 2K Plus (5DCFAB), and 2K (5DFYA5) (2nd Gen).

The adapter provides a stable, flat mounting surface positioned 0.5" forward of the highest raised front surface of the brickmold. This measurement is the offset added by the adapter itself. The installed doorbell extends farther forward because of its own thickness. The 0.5" offset is not measured from a recessed part of the molding or from the wall behind it.

Designed for common brickmold trim shapes, often approximately 2" wide. Brickmold varies by manufacturer; compare your trim shape with the product photos before ordering.

For installations using compatible wired doorbell power, the adapter also helps hide doorbell wires and wire connectors (wire nuts) behind the mounted doorbell for a cleaner appearance. This space can remain unused for battery-only installations. The adapter is a mounting accessory, not an electrical junction box.

Offset measurement: Measure from the highest raised front part of the brickmold to the adapter's flat mounting surface. The adapter adds 0.5" of clearance before accounting for the doorbell's own thickness.

Installation Notes

Basic installation tools may be required (e.g., screwdriver). Follow the installation instructions for your exact Ring doorbell model.

▪︎ Step 1 — Verify the doorbell model. Confirm model 5DFYA6, 5DCFAB, or 5DFYA5.

▪︎ Step 2 — Inspect and measure brickmold. Identify the highest raised front part of the trim and confirm that its shape fits the adapter.

▪︎ Step 3 — Prepare the area. Make sure the trim and material behind it are solid and suitable for securely holding mounting screws.

▪︎ Step 4 — Test the fit. Position the adapter against the brickmold and check that it fits the trim securely, provides a flat mounting surface, and delivers the intended 0.5" offset.

▪︎ Step 5 — Arrange optional wiring. If using compatible wired doorbell power, arrange the doorbell wires and appropriate wire connectors (wire nuts) so they can be concealed behind the mounted doorbell without being pinched. Follow Ring's instructions and applicable electrical requirements.

▪︎ Step 6 — Secure the brickmold adapter. Use the appropriate included long screws and solid material behind the trim that securely holds the screws. Do not crush or distort the brickmold.

▪︎ Step 7 — Install the Ring mounting bracket. Fasten the original Ring bracket to the adapter using the included short screws.

▪︎ Step 8 — Attach and check the doorbell. Complete the installation according to Ring's instructions; verify secure mounting, camera view, and appropriate outdoor sealing.

For wired-powered installations, use only compatible doorbell wiring and follow Ring's power requirements and applicable electrical rules. The adapter helps hide wires and wire nuts, but it is not a power converter or an electrical junction box.
